OXFORD PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN (OPW)

"Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit Oxford Presbyterian Women commit themselves to nurture their faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promises of God's Kingdom." This is the mission and belief of Newsletter Women. This vital group comes together in a variety of ways in order to join in friendship and carry out their ministry call.

OPW come together in a variety of ways and times. For more detailed information about Circles and Gatherings, please select the links on the right. You may also request a copy of the OPW yearbook, published annually, that includes information about all OPW activites and events. Library

The material available in the Molyneaux Library Lounge is maintained and provided by OPW. Reading resources are located on the Presbyterian Women's Reading Shelf. All are welcome to borrow and use the materials.



Mission Activities

There are number of fundraiser events organized and carried out by OPW. All in the congregation are encouraged to participate as they can. Proceeds and items made are used for mission work throughout the church and community. Fundraisers include:

  • Rummage and Boutique Sales are held in the Fall and the Spring.
  • Cookie Walk and Craft Sale in December.
  • Mabel Kramer Christmas Stockings, knitted by group members and sold to raise money for mission endeavors.
  • Bed and Breakfast hosting of parents of college students during Miami University's Parents' Weekend in October and Commencement in May.
