Time to Dine
LET'S SHARE A MEAL TOGETHER
This simple concept has grown into a very popular time of fellowship, discussion and friendship. Each Fall a sign up sheet is provided for those who wish to participate. Members of the Membership, Evangelism & Fellowship Committee then take the names and match up groups of eight to ten individuals. The person/couple who is the first host is given the names in their "Time to Dine" group and makes contact with each person/couple. A time is then set to come together.
These times together have been done in a variety of ways. Some have been held at a home; others at a restaurant. Some are dinners; others are brunch. Some have been rather formal; others have been picnics. Whatever the group desires for their "Time to Dine" is what is done by that group.
The only requirement is quite easy too; simply get together one time in the course of the year and enjoy a meal together. Some groups gather several times, as their schedules allow. Others will meet once, enjoy the experience, then move on to a new group in the Fall.
There is no duplication. By design individuals and couples are with a different group of people each year. That also makes it special as there is the chance to meet a wide variety of church members. This is an excellent way for new church members to meet and get to know other members in a smaller, more intimate setting. It is also nice for those members who have been in the church for a while as they, too, can get to know others who they may not have had a chance to know well in the past.
All are welcome and encouraged to sign up. Look for the sign up sheet in September in the Molyneaux Library Lounge and watch for announcements in the bulletin and newsletter.
