Children's Sunday School

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

We have a thriving children's Christian Education program and are always pleased to see our young people in worship and as we gather together. All children, ages 3 and up, attend worship until they are dismissed to their Sunday School class after the children's message, which is usually around 10:20 a.m. Parents pick up their preschool through 5^TH grade children at their Sunday School classroom after worship. Following are some of the opportunities we provide on Sunday mornings.

Nursery

Infants and children up to 3 years of age

The Nursery is located on the first floor in the front part of the Christian Education wing, participating Miami University Student Interns provide nursery care every Sunday during our worship service.

Pre-School Class

Children ages 3 and 4-years old

The classroom is located on the first floor in the front part of the Christian Education wing. Children may stay in the service and then go to their class after the children are dismissed following the children's message.

Young Elementary Class

Children in Kindergarten and in 1^ST Grade

The classroom is located on the second floor at the top of the steps of the Christian Education entryway. Children attend worship then are dismissed after the children's message when they are met at the Christian Education entryway and led to their class by the Director of Christian Education.

Workshop Rotation

Children in 2^ND through 5^TH Grades

Classrooms are located on the second floor at the top of the steps of the Christian Education entryway. Children attend worship then are dismissed after the children's message when they are met at the Christian Education entryway and led to their class by the Director of Christian Education. In each workshop setting they study a Bible story for five weeks from the aspect of Art, Drama, Bible Skills (Temple), Media, and Computer workshops. A chart showing where each grade level is going for that Sunday is located at the Christian Education entryway.

Middle School Class

Children in 6^TH through 8^TH Grades

Classroom is located on the second floor in the Geneva Room. Children attend worship then may leave with the other children after the children's message. The junior high age level class focuses on using the Bible and talking about the Old Testament. Members of the class also help with nursery and preschool care as needed.

EDUCATION FOR FAMILIES & ADULTS

In addition to our children's education ministry, we also offer several education opportunities for adult education, fun and fellowship. Event times and class topics will be announced in church, listed in the newsletter, and given on the OPC web site calendar.

Family Programs

Family Fun Time

Two to Four times per year we have a gathering where families come together to play games, share in fellowship with other families, learn more about each other and themselves, and just be goofy together!

Classes for Parents

Parents who have Children at Home

Geared toward adults with children still in their household, Classes for Parents include such topics as Active Parenting, How to Survive Your Busy Lifestyle, Money Matters, and What the Bible has to say ... [Topics Vary]. Come enjoy the fellowship always with free childcare provided.
